CalNet Admin Tool

CalNet Admin Tool (CAT)

CalNet Admin Tool is used by our campus partners to look up verified identity and affiliation data for campus users such as students and employees. You must have a legitimate business purpose for requesting access to the CalNet Admin Tool,  your supervisor must approve your request.

If you need access to CAT, complete this Service Request form in Service Now.

You must complete FERPA training and attach the certificate of completion to your request for CAT access. Access FERPA training online via UC Learning Center.

Most CAT users will only need access to CalNet accounts in their department. If you need access to all campus users, you must provide a use case in the service request form.

Most CAT users also only need access to Lived Name. If your job requires that you see a person's Legal Name as well, you must provide a business use case in the request form.

If you request the ability to see Legal Names in CAT, you must complete the UC Gender Recognition & Lived Name training and attach the certificate of completion to the service request form.  Access the training online via UC Learning Center.

If you work in SIS or campus HR and need to be able to trigger a real-time message from your system of record (CS or UCPath) to CalNet, request access to the iHub trigger via the form above.

What happened to CalNet Deputies?

The CalNet deputy progream was retired several years ago when CalNet transitioned to a new Identity system. If you are in a role that requires access to view identity records, assist users with setting up their CalNet credentials, or other CalNet-related support tasks, your supervisor may request that you be given access to the CalNet Admin Tool.
